Our Trip to Genting Highlands

Acorn

Updated: Jul 6, 2023

Nestled amidst the peaks of Malaysia, this picturesque hill resort promises an exhilarating escape from the bustling city life. Boasting a delightful blend of natural splendor and modern attractions, Genting Highlands offers an array of thrilling experiences for every traveler.

How to get there?

- We flew from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia which costs around $80 SGD and took around 1 hour to reach.

- Upon reaching the airport, we booked a grab directly to our hotel at Grand Ion Delemen Hotel in Genting Highlands, which costed another $190 MYR (~60 SGD). The trip from KL airport to our hotel was approximately 2 hours so make sure you grab some snacks for the ride!

Total cost: $140 SGD for 2 pax (~4 hours from Singapore to Genting Highlands)

Day 1:

- Took a grab from the hotel to Sky Avenue Mall (~11 MYR = 3 SGD)

- Had lunch at Grandmama's

- Went on cable car to Genting Premium Outlets (Skip the queue and get tickets here!)

- Explored Genting Premium Outlets

- Took cable car back to visit Skytropolis (Tickets here!)

- Ended the night by trying our luck at the SkyCasino

- Had noodles at LeNu because we got hungry

Day 2:

- Brunch at 21 Degrees Cafe

- Walked over to the Strawberry farm (Tickets can only be purchased at entrance for $20 MYR per pax)

- Went for a massage at Borneo Oasis, which was just a walk away. It was so so good!

- Took a grab back to our hotel to rest and then off to explore SkyAvenue again!

- Ended the night with dinner at BabaJia

Day 3:

- Grab down to Kuala Lumpur (~$65 MYR = $19 SGD)

- Explored Pavillon Mall

- Went to Mun Wah Hokkien Mee for dinner. This place is such a hidden gem!

Address: 155, Jln Maharajalela, Kampung Attap, 50460 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

- After dinner we went off to Petaling Street for street food and shopping.

- And ofcourse how can we visit KL without visiting its famous landmark! We ended the night by taking a grab down to the Petronas Tower to see its shimmering lights. Went to Petronas Tower to see the beautiful landmark!

Day 4:

- Went to Berjaya Time Square

- Explored Pavillon again

- Took a grab to KL airport and that was the end of our trip!

We exchanged $300 SGD each for our trip which was more than enough. I do recommend exchanging in your country due to the high exchange rates. Grab is also a must in KL as its the easiest mode of transport at a very affordable price. Overall, I think 2 days in Genting Highlands was just nice. With the additional 1 night in KL, it was a nice little touch to end our trip in Malaysia!
